I have gone without porn for about two weeks now... And I have only been praying once every 2-3 days- reading scriptures only at church. I don't know if it was ever this easy before... Or it is supposed to be. Ever since I have started to feel true love for another girl (we talk a lot), the porn just as if "magically" went away. Correlation? Coincidence?

Comments:

Two weeks--nice!
"If it never comes back, perhaps there is a correlation.

When it does, I'm betting it's more of a coincidence.

Whatever works is good.

Jesus works."

I have had the same experience several times
"Whenever I had a relationship (non-physical) with a girl I really liked, it's as if my MB addiction just disappeared, for as long as I had the relationship. That's because she filled an emotional void that I was trying to fill with my addiction. Same thing is likely true for you.

This is why we need to turn to the Lord to fill our voids. Our relationships with people are fragile and unreliable, even if our partners are faithful. But the Lord is always there for us. So if other relationships go wrong, we won't rely on self medication for healing, we will rely on the Lord, and he will be there for us.

That being said, I hope this relationship blossoms for you. However, I would start praying twice a day, read the scriptures every day, etc.. and get close to the Lord and let him be your healer."

"Strength comes from uplifting music, good books, and feasting from the scriptures. Since the Book of Mormon was to come forth “when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth” (Morm. 8:31), study of that book in particular will fortify us."

— Russell M. Nelson
