How Firm a Foundation : 3 — Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

That is a line from TOY STORY 2. I used to sing this one to myself when I was feeling down, i sang this verse. My lady friend who has touched me so, she has a beautiful singing voice, and she sung this for me, and also 'i stand all amazed', i can't help but think of her and my saviour when i hear these. maybe someday i will be able to sing this with her. she always wanted me to sing with her, but i was always shy...

Me, Too!
"They are among my favorites, too! This verse has helped me when I was down. It gave me peace and courage one time when I felt all alone and afraid, and has come to mind in other times of need.

I included the 7th verse of How Firm a Foundation in a blog a few days ago, and I could write about the 4th and 5th verses as well. The whole hymn has become so personal that it could have been written just for me.

I am grateful that the Lord gave us the power of music, especially the hymns."

"Nothing is beyond [Christ’s] redeeming reach or His encircling empathy. Therefore, we should not complain about our own life’s not being a rose garden when we remember who wore the crown of thorns! Having bled at every pore, how red His raiment must have been in Gethsemane, how crimson that cloak! No wonder, when Christ comes in power and glory, that He will come in reminding red attire, signifying not only the winepress of wrath, but also to bring to our remembrance how He suffered for each of us in Gethsemane and on Calvary!"
